Our story so far

KAT Racing was built from a passion for rallying, grassroots motorsport, and doing things the hard way. From co-driving in local championships to stepping into the driver’s seat ourselves, the journey has been shaped by family, friends, hard work, and a love for the sport.

Over the years, the GC8 became a huge part of our story, helping us grow through rallysprints, WA Rally Championship events, and countless kilometres on and off the stages. In 2024, we achieved one of our biggest milestones yet — building the Subaru BRZ and winning the Australian Rally Championship 2WD title with Kelly navigating for her dad, Dave Thomas.

Now in 2026, KAT Racing continues to evolve. Kelly and navigator Amelia Jordan are currently competing in the GC8 while the new Subaru WRX STI Spec C build comes together behind the scenes. Every season brings new challenges, new memories, and new goals — and this is only the beginning.

Our unique approach to rallying

At KAT Racing, we believe rallying is about more than just driving fast. As an all-girl team competing in a tough and demanding sport, our approach is built around authenticity, hard work, and making the most of what we’ve got.

From late nights in the shed and building cars on a budget, to towing across the state and doing whatever it takes to get to the start line, we’re passionate about showing the real side of grassroots rallying. We want motorsport to feel accessible, relatable, and inspiring for the next generation of competitors and fans.

For us, it’s not just about results — it’s about community, resilience, growth, and proving you don’t need the biggest budget to chase big goals.

At KAT Racing, we’ve never been afraid to dream big. What started as a passion for grassroots motorsport has grown into a vision much bigger than ourselves — to compete at higher levels, continue building incredible cars, grow our community, and inspire more people, especially women, to get involved in rallying.

Our goals go far beyond trophies and results. We want to keep building a team and brand that people genuinely connect with, while proving that hard work, persistence, and passion can take you a long way — even without a massive budget behind you.

From bigger events and new builds, to growing our supporter base and creating more opportunities within motorsport, KAT Racing is only just getting started.
