What is gravel rallying?

Gravel rallying is a form of motorsport where drivers and co-drivers race against the clock on closed gravel and dirt roads through forests, farmland and remote locations. Unlike circuit racing, competitors start one at a time and tackle long stages filled with jumps, crests, tight corners, changing surfaces and unpredictable conditions.

A rally team consists of both a driver and co-driver, with the co-driver reading detailed pace notes that describe the road ahead corner by corner. Success in rallying relies on trust, precision, teamwork and the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions.

What makes gravel rallying so unique is its raw and unpredictable nature. No two roads are the same, weather can completely change a stage, and competitors are constantly balancing speed with control on loose surfaces. It’s one of the most demanding yet rewarding forms of motorsport, bringing together passionate competitors, crews, officials and spectators from all walks of life.
